Psychoeducational Evaluations
I provide comprehensive and focused psychoeducational evaluations for children ages 6 and up to help families better understand how a child learns, processes information, and functions academically, socially, and emotionally.
My goal is to identify both strengths and areas of need and to translate results into clear, practical recommendations that can be used at school and at home.

A required initial parent consultation is conducted prior to scheduling an evaluation. During this free, fifteen-minute consultation, I will discuss your concerns, answer questions, and help determine which evaluation approach is best suited to your child’s individual needs.
*Comprehensive Psychoeducational Evaluation — $4,200
A comprehensive psychoeducational evaluation provides a full understanding of a student’s learning profile, including cognitive, academic, attention, memory, and social-emotional functioning.
This evaluation is appropriate when a child’s learning profile is complex or when families are seeking a broad, integrative understanding of academic and behavioral functioning.
This evaluation may include assessment of:
Cognitive and reasoning abilities
Academic skills (reading, writing, mathematics)
Attention and executive functioning
Memory and learning processes
Social-emotional and behavioral functioning
School-based functioning and learning needs
This evaluation includes:
Parent intake interview
Review of relevant records
Individualized testing session(s)
Rating scales from parents and teachers (as appropriate)
Comprehensive written report
Feedback meeting to review results and recommendations
A comprehensive evaluation is often appropriate for students with broader or more complex concerns related to learning, attention, executive functioning, emotional regulation, behavior, or when there are multiple factors affecting success at school.
*Focused Psychoeducational Evaluation — $3,000
A focused evaluation is designed to address a specific area of concern when a full comprehensive evaluation is not needed.
This option provides targeted information to better understand one primary area of functioning.
Examples may include:
Cognitive assessment (learning profile)
Academic achievement assessment (selective reading, writing, and/or math assessments )
Social-emotional or behavioral assessment
This evaluation includes:
Brief intake interview
Targeted testing in the area of concern
Rating scales as appropriate
Detailed written report with individualized recommendations
Feedback meeting to review results and recommendations
Targeted evaluations are appropriate when the referral question is specific and the assessment can focus on a particular area of concern. This option is often beneficial for families seeking clarification about a specific issue, updated information following a previous evaluation, or targeted recommendations to support educational planning.
Please note: If concerns are broader in nature or involve multiple areas of functioning, a comprehensive psychoeducational evaluation may be recommended to provide a more complete understanding of a child's strengths and needs.
*Attention & Executive Function Evaluation — $2,400
An Attention & Executive Function Evaluation is designed for families seeking a better understanding of concerns related to attention, organization, planning, impulse control, working memory, or other executive functioning skills.
This evaluation helps determine whether a child's attention and executive functioning profile is consistent with ADHD or another condition affecting daily functioning while providing practical recommendations for home and school.
Areas that may be evaluated include:
Attention and concentration
Executive functioning skills
Working memory
Processing speed (when appropriate)
Behavioral and emotional regulation
School functioning
This evaluation includes:
Comprehensive parent intake interview
Review of relevant educational and medical records
Standardized attention and executive functioning rating scales completed by parents and teachers
Individualized assessment of attention and executive functioning, as clinically indicated
Written report with diagnostic impressions and individualized recommendations
Feedback meeting to review results and recommendations
If broader concerns related to learning or academic achievement emerge during the evaluation, a comprehensive psychoeducational evaluation may be recommended to provide a more complete understanding of your child's learning profile.
*Cognitive (IQ) Evaluation - $1,000
A standalone cognitive/intelligence (IQ) evaluation is available for individuals seeking assessment of intellectual functioning only. Evaluations are completed using the WISC-V (ages 6–16) or the WAIS-V (ages 16 and older), depending on age.
This evaluation may be appropriate for students applying to private schools or colleges that require cognitive testing to support requests for accommodations, as well as for families seeking a better understanding of an individual’s cognitive strengths and abilities.
This evaluation includes:
Individual cognitive (IQ) testing
Written report summarizing results and interpretation
Brief feedback consultation to review findings, if desired
The written report is typically provided within two weeks of the evaluation.
Parent Consultation / Educational Support
I also offer consultation services for parents seeking guidance related to school concerns, evaluation results, special education services, IEPs, and 504 Plans. Fee information for these services available upon request.
**Payment Considerations**
Threadline Psychological & Educational Services is an out-of-network provider and does not bill insurance directly. Payment is accepted by cash or check.
Upon request, families will receive an itemized statement (superbill) that may be submitted to their insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Please note that reimbursement is not guaranteed and varies by individual insurance plan. Families are encouraged to contact their insurance provider directly to determine whether they have out-of-network benefits for psychological or psychoeducational evaluations.
Evaluation Process: What should you expect?
Step 1: Initial Consultation/Parent Intake
The evaluation process begins with a 60-minute consultation to discuss your concerns, your child's history, and the questions you hope the assessment will answer. In most cases, this meeting is held with parents or caregivers (children do not attend), although older adolescents may participate when appropriate.
The purpose of the consultation/intake is to develop a clear understanding of your child's strengths, challenges, and current needs so that the evaluation can be tailored to address the specific referral questions. If previous testing with your child has been completed (school evaluations, previous testing, etc.), I will ask parents/guardians to share that testing, so I have a full picture of your child.
Step 2: Assessment and Testing
On a subsequent day, your child will come in for testing, which is typically scheduled in the morning, when most children and adolescents are at their best for tasks requiring attention, problem-solving, and learning. Testing is done in an individualized setting with the child/adolescent and myself in a comfortable and calm setting and standardized testing procedures are followed. The assessment process generally begins with cognitive and learning measures and may last several hours.
A substantial break is built into the day to allow time for rest and lunch before continuing with the afternoon session. Depending on the individual's needs, testing may be completed over more than one day to reduce fatigue and ensure the most accurate results. I aim to respect and be cognizant of each child’s/adolescent’s needs during the evaluation.
Additional components of the evaluation may include academic achievement testing (reading, writing, and/or mathematics), interviews, behavioral and social-emotional rating scales, and other assessment measures selected to address the referral concerns.
Please note: For individuals who only need cognitive testing, the testing session should only last the morning session.
Step 3: Feedback and Recommendations
Once the evaluation is complete and all data have been carefully reviewed, a feedback meeting will be scheduled, typically within two to four weeks of the testing date. During this meeting, I will discuss the results in detail, review the findings, and answer any questions you may have.
The goal of the feedback session is to help parents fully understand the evaluation results, their child's unique profile of strengths and areas of need, and the recommendations that can support success at home, in school, and in the community. A comprehensive written report will be provided, including individualized recommendations and, when appropriate, diagnostic conclusions.
