Hi! Iām Lara D. Urso, M.Ed, CAGS
With 20 years of experience as a school psychologist, I have worked with students from preschool through high school who have a wide range of learning, attention, social-emotional, behavioral, and medical needs. I earned my bachelor's degree from Northeastern University and went on to earn a Master of Education (M.Ed.) and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in School Psychology from University of Massachusetts Boston. I became a school psychologist in 2006 and have spent the majority of my career working for the Winchester Public Schools. I have also worked for the Northborough-Southborough Regional School District for several years.
I am deeply committed to helping children strengthen their social-emotional learning (SEL) skills. Throughout my career, I have enjoyed supporting students as they develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, social skills, problem-solving abilities, resilience, and confidence.
My approach is strengths-based, engaging, and supportive. Through SEL enrichment groups, I strive to create a welcoming environment where children can practice important social and emotional skills, build meaningful connections with peers, and gain confidence in navigating everyday challenges. My goal is to provide opportunities for all children to develop the tools they need to succeed in school, relationships, and life. I believe that social-emotional skills are foundational to a child's overall well-being and lifelong success, and I am passionate about helping children develop these skills in a positive and encouraging setting.
